First Sony Ericsson W580i shipments with faulty keypad

The first shipments of the Sony Ericsson W580i were found to be faulty with several thousand devices coming with keypads prone to cracking. According to one Carphone Warehouse salesperson, the W580i’s keys were splitting and the first three phones they’ve sold were all returned.
Naturally, the Swedish-Japanese handset maker reacted promptly and the later W580i shipments have been stopped in transit to ensure they did not go out. Anyone who had a problem with their W580i keypad should contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
I just hope this wasn’t the error caused by the shake feature, as I find that as one of the key selling points of the W580i! And of the
W910i, of course…
