Bill Could Ban Cell Phones While Driving

A new law being proposed in Texas could make it a crime to use your cell phone while driving unless the phone is handsfree.
Senate Bill 154 prohibits the use of any wireless communication device while driving, unless it`s used with a hands-free device. Drivers would be allowed to use a hand-held devices to call 911, an ambulance, or police and fire departments.
If the bill is passed drivers would receive a citation similar to a traffic ticket.
If approved the bill wouldn`t become law until 2008.
