Fusion provides VoIP access from mobile phones with new service

NETWORK WORLD MIDDLE EAST

Fusion Telecommunications International, a global Internet telephony provider, announced the launch of Mobilink, a new service that enables subscribers to access its retail Efonica VoIP services from their mobile phones, without Internet access or special software.

Mobilink allows subscribers to enjoy the low cost and excellent quality of VoIP from their mobile phones. Subscribers simply dial an access number, which automatically authenticates their Efonica member status and allows them to call virtually any number in the world, at savings of up to 80% compared to their mobile carriers. This service is also available from landline telephones.
Mobilink is currently available to US subscribers and will soon be introduced in Middle Eastern countries where Efonica’s services are accessible. An important Mobilink feature allows users to call any in-network Efonica subscriber worldwide for free by simply dialing ‘10’, the Worldwide Internet Area Code, prior to the registered phone number of the called party.

Consumers can subscribe to Mobilink by visiting Efonica’s website at www.efonica.com and completing an easy registration process. Subscribers to Mobilink also have access to Efonica’s full suite of VoIP solutions.

“Fusion is excited to offer this unique new service, which allows every Efonica subscriber, even those with only the free service, to receive calls on Efonica from mobile and landline callers anywhere in the world. We believe that offering a free in-network calling option will significantly increase savings for subscribers making international calls,” said Roger Karam, President of Fusion’s VoIP division and CEO of Efonica.

“Mobilink brings the benefits of VoIP to a wider range of consumers who use mobile phones as their primary communications device, and allows them to retain their usual calling habits while offering excellent quality and cost savings. With this new service, Fusion is taking another step at bringing families, friends and business associates closer together,” added Karam.

Efonica’s Mobilink service incorporates Fusion’s patent-pending Worldwide Internet Area Code, which makes VoIP calling simple. The Internet Area Code allows subscribers to dial a ‘10’ before an Internet phone number to call other subscribers in-network for free, eliminating the need to introduce complicated or confusing new dialing patterns. Efonica subscribers are able to use their existing landline or mobile numbers as their Internet phone numbers.

Efonica’s products and services are designed to work on wireless, broadband and dial-up Internet connections, and, with the launch of Mobilink, are now available even without Internet access.

Subscribers can call each other from any combination of PCs, Internet phones, analogue phones with a SIP adapter, and any landline or mobile phone using an access number.
