Ericsson awarded network deal in Sri Lanka

LONDON, January 16 (newratings.com) – Swedish telecom major Ericsson (ERCB.ETR) Tuesday announced that it had been chosen as the lead partner for building Dialog Telekom’s 3G network in Sri Lanka.As per the terms of the contract, Ericsson will provide the core network, besides supplying a majority of the radio access network for Dialog’s 3G net rollout in Sri Lanka. The project will offer mobile users in Sri Lanka access to broadband services, besides video telephony, mobile TV streaming, IP telephony, and GPS-based services, Ericsson stated.
