D800iDS: NTT DoCoMo launches mobile phones featuring touch panel, smell

Japan’s largest mobile service provider NTT DoCoMo has launched a new mobile phone in the market which features a touch-sensitive screen.
This touch screen provides similar functionality to the hugely popular Nintendo DS gaming console popular in Japan. The recently unveiled Apple iPhone also features a touch screen interface.
Impressively, the company has also launched another model which gives off a relaxing scent.
The first phone is the D800iDS mobile device developed by Mitsubishi Electric. It is a clamshell mobile phone with screens on both upper and lower halves.
Owners of this mobile handset would input character by writing on the touch screen with their fingers or a stylus on the mobile phone. There is also an on screen keyboard for dialing a number or writing a text message.
The company said that this phone would allow the users to send hand-written messages and drawings as e-mail attachments. The touch screen would also enable them to offer advanced mobile games on the device.
The second handset is the SO703i from Sony Ericsson. It comes loaded with scented sheets designed to relax the users while making calls. The phone comes loaded with nine aroma choices for the consumer.
