Motorola Android Smartphone Called Motorola CLIQ (DEXT) with MOTOBLUR UI

Motorola this week has unveiled its first Android smartphone, the Motorola DEXT or the CLIQ for T-Mobile USA. Like HTC’s Sense UI, Motorola announced its MOTOBLUR, which is exclusively for Motorola’s Android smartphone with tight social network integration. Updates to contacts, posts, messages, photos and more are streamed together and synced from sources including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, and work and personal e-mail. MOTOBLUR automatically delivers these updates to the home screen in easy-to-view streams so there is no need to open and close different mobile applications to keep up with the latest content.

The CLIQ delivers a reliable mobile Web experience by harnessing the power and speed of T-Mobile’s 3G network and Wi-Fi. Additional CLIQ features include a 3.1-inch HVGA touch-screen display, a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with video capture and playback at 24 frames per second, a 3.5mm headset jack, a music player with pre-loaded Amazon MP3 store application, Shazam, iMeem Mobile, and a pre-installed 2GB microSD memory card with support for up to 32 GB of removable memory.

DEXT will be available exclusively launching with Orange in the United Kingdom and France, Telefonica in Spain and America Movil in Latin America. Known as CLIQ in North America, the device will be available exclusively with T-Mobile USA.

Verizon Wireless and Samsung this week announced the availability of two new messaging phones – the Samsung Rogue and the Samsung Intensity. The Samsung Rogue is a full touch screen phone that comes with a horizontal slide-out, four-row QWERTY keyboard, threaded messaging and one-touch access to popular social networking widgets, including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, YouTube and Photobucket.

LG First Android Smartphone GW620 Announced

LG has just announced its first Android-powered smartphones, the LG GW620. While details specs is still unknown except a 3-inch full touchscreen and slide out QWERTY keyboard, the LG GW620 will also support the social networking sites and to be available in the fourth quarter of this year in select European markets.

“The LG-GW620 will appeal to first-time smartphone customers by offering a new and different kind of user experience,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our objective is to provide a wide selection of smartphones to satisfy the diverse preferences of today’s consumers. This Android phone is just one of many smartphone models we plan to introduce worldwide in the years ahead.”

In addition to the Android model, LG announced in early September that it will be introducing a minimum of 13 new smartphones over the next 16 months that utilize Microsoft’s Windows Mobile. The newest release, version 6.5, was announced just last week.

O2 launches My O2 iPhone Application

O2 has today announced My O2 for iPhone, an app designed to help make viewing the amount customers spend their phones even easier. The app is now available as a free download on the Apple App Store.

The My O2 section of O2’s website gives comprehensive information on every part of a customer’s account and could already be accessed via SMS and online, however the new My O2 app takes this information and makes it available in a way specifically tailored for the iPhone.

Using the My O2 app, both O2 Pay & Go and Pay Monthly iPhone customers will be able to securely see their tariff details, a summary of their inclusive allowance and how much remains, their latest bill and any Bolt Ons on their account.

“Our customers want to stay in control of how much they spend whenever they like. The My O2 iPhone app allows them to do this with the minimum of fuss,” said Sally Cowdry, Marketing Director for O2. “We wanted to make this information as easy to view as possible. This is all part of our commitment to a great customer experience and we’ll be looking at rolling this out to other phones in the near future.”

Leaked HTC Leo Gets a Video Walkthrough

Wow wow, as the next big updates to the HTC Touch HD, the unannounced HTC Leo is now available in a high quality photo gallery and a nice walkthrough video. The ai.rs has again confirmed the multi touch capability on this giant Windows Phones. This could be the first Windows Phones using a capacitive touch screen! The HTC Leo is also coming with a new version of the famous HTC’s TouchFLO 3D (Manila 2.5), added with program shortcut on the home screen, footprint tab, social network integration and new icons design.


Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm 8250B CPU, the new TouchFLO 3D is very responsive to finger touch with no delay. While it is not sure that HTC Pro Three will be its actual name, we are definitely happy to see a dual flash LED added to the 5 megapixel camera module. Check out the video below.

Sony Ericsson Announces Motion Activated Headphones MH907

Is this going to change the way you listen the music? Sony Ericsson is introducing its new MH907 headphones, comes with the world’s first motion activated sensor to control the music playback. Sony Ericsson’s SensMe Control responds without a single press of a button. You can pause the music playback just by removing one earbud, and to start listening again you can simply plug the earbud back.

“With the MH907 consumers can pocket their phone but still stay connected all day, every day by simply plugging in or removing their earbuds – there is no need for a remote control or any buttons.” said Jacob Sten, Senior Vice President, SEMC Accessories.

When both earbuds are inserted, the phone’s music player automatically
starts. Remove one earbud to pause music and reinsert it to begin playing the
track again.

To answer a call, insert one earbud. Or, if you are listening to music
and receive a call, just remove one earbud and reinsert it.

Sounds great right? The MH907 needs a Sony Ericsson phones with a fast port connector to work with, that means it will not be compatible with any other phones with bluetooth yet.

Motorola Entice W766 is available online today for $39.99 after a $50 rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. It will be in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores later this month for the same price after a $50 mail-in rebate.
