Sure, a million or so iPhone and HTC Touch handsets are an impressive feat - especially when you consider that they’ve only been on market for a handful of months. But, those numbers are no match for LG’s sales figures for their LG Shine lineup of mobile phone. While Apple is celebrating their single-digit million-unit sales goal, LG has announced that they’ve moved 5 million LG Shine handsets from the factory floor and into customer hands. Of course, that’s a worldwide sales figure, but it’s incredible nonetheless. The LG Shine lineup launched a little over a year ago in October of 2006, so that roughly calculates to LG selling a third-of-a-million handsets every single month since its launch! Props to LG.
Now, don’t let this get you down, LG. But, there’s that little matter of an exploding cellphone battery to deal with.
Oh, and we’re glad the LG Shine on-board the US market.
