Nokia has just announced the N810, a brand new "Internet Communicator." This handheld is based on the current N800, but sports a number of significant changes and enhancements, making it a worthy upgrade for current N800 and new customers alike. First and foremost, the N810 sports a slide out QWERTY keyboard, which places it firmly into UMPC territory. The keypad looks quite comfortable, but don’t be fooled — we heard it might be a little tough to type on. It also looks a tad similar to HTC’s current slide out design, no?
The handheld also sports integrated GPS, which functions seamlessly with the included Nokia Maps. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are standard, but don’t expect to find any cell radios on this thing. The N810 also sports a new browser with an Adobe Flash 9 plugin, bringing Web 2.0 functionality to the handheld market. Yes! 2 GBs of internal storage, RSS reader, FM transmitter and more round out the feature set. It’s available come November for $479.
