Samsung unveils Ultra Edition II Series - Ultra Slim and Ultra Stylish

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a leading provider of mobile phones and telecom systems, once again redefined the mobile handset market with today's launch of the Ultra Edition II series.

Making its debut in the Middle East and Africa, the Ultra Edition II series was launched at the Park Hyatt in Dubai earlier today. The new series builds on the outstanding success of Samsung's Ultra Edition range, which was launched in July 2006, and like its preceding series, it embodies the best, and most advanced technology, revolutionary designs, and critical business and consumer- related multimedia functions.
The result is four of the slimmest, most powerful and best looking handsets in each form factor.
The Ultra Edition II portfolio launched by Samsung in the Middle East and Africa consists of the unique and sleekly designed Ultra Edition 10.9 (U600) and the Ultra Edition 12.1 (U700).

Both stylish sliders have a jewel inspired casing that add glamour and a touch of royalty to the handsets. In addition, each device boasts of advanced features such as 3.2 mega-pixel cameras, high-speed web connectivity, as well as extensive multimedia and audio capabilities.

Proving that Samsung is truly in touch with changing consumer trends, each handset also incorporates innovative design elements such as external multimedia navigation keys for ease of use. Commenting on the launch of the new Ultra Series, Mr. Chiwon Suh, President of Samsung Electronics, Middle East and Africa Operations, said:

'With the Ultra Edition II we have raised the bar even further in terms of digital intelligence. We have built on the foundations of the earlier series and delivered a range that is even more striking in terms of appearance and exclusive feel.

The ultra slim design of the range is combined with an unprecedented array of features that will attract business users, fashion-conscious consumers and multimedia enthusiasts.'

Exclusive to the Ultra Edition II range, Samsung's Optimized Power Usage Solution (OPUS) sets these handsets apart by increasing talk time by 10%, power saving by 30% and battery capacity by 10%.

Samsung's Smart Surface Mounting Technology (SSMT), which was initially developed for the Ultra Edition range, has also been an intrinsic design element for the Ultra Edition II handsets, reducing the number of required components, interference and noise made while ensuring that quality does not get sacrificed for good looks.

Samsung's Ultra Edition II range also addresses the needs of a growing segment of consumers that expects mobile and music to come hand in hand. Each handset combines extensive music player capabilities with super sound quality and is equipped with a digital power amp developed by Bang and Olufsen.

All devices also feature a dedicated music interface to make navigation and listening easier with Quick PC Sync software installed to make the creation and selection of playlists as easy as possible.
The Samsung Ultra U600 is now available in the United Arab Emirates.
