So it looks like the Motorola is bringing back their fantastically unsuccessful Moto PEBL for another run at mobile fame. The newest addition to Moto’s ROKR lineup of musicphones comes in the form of an updated PEBL - the Moto ROKR U9. The revived flip-phone sports a snazzy new external color display with touch-sensitive music controls, a la the RAZR2 - taking its place as a higher-end ROKR musicphone next its stablemate, the Moto Z6.
And, aside from lacking a proper headphone jack of any sort (a miniUSB port should take care of everything from data transfers to headphones), we can’t really tell you anything more about the ROKR U9.
We’re assuming that the ROKR model names indicate form-factor and position in the musicphone lineup - the “U” referring to a clamshell, and the “9″ giving the handset a rather high position in the ROKR line.
As always, we’ll keep our ear to the ground for more info on the ROKR U9. Stay tuned!
