iPhone compatible speaker clock radio

Designed for bedrooms, studio apartments or college dorm rooms, Sony is unveiling its latest clock radio with a dock for Apple iPod and Apple iPhone. Sony is one of the first companies to launch an Apple iPhone compatible speaker clock radio. It features a wireless remote with full access to the iPod and iPhone devices’ menus (the Apple iPhone handset must be in iPod mode), as well as to alarm clock’s radio tuning and volume functions. It also charges the Apple iPhone while docked.

An adjustable backstop mechanism ensures that most devices fit snugly and securely in the clock radio's cradle. It's also compatible with the smaller iPod players. Because of its supplied cable and line-in jack, other digital music players can be easily connected to the unit. The clock radio also has a full-function alarm clock. Users can choose to wake up or fall asleep to music, the radio or a buzzer.

When first powered on, the Automatic Time Set (ATS) feature will display the correct Eastern Standard Time which easily can be changed to other time zones. The Sony clock radio also has automatic Daylight Savings Time adjustment, eliminating the need to reset the clock in the spring and the fall. Adjustable brightness control over the LCD display provides easy readability.

Price and Availability
The Sony ICF-ClipMK2 clock radio comes in both black and white designs. It will be available in May for about $100 at Sony Style stores or online troughout the Sony Style website and at authorized dealers nationwide.

Motorola EQ5 Portable Wireless Speaker Big On Sound

Sometimes, you don't want to bother holding your cell phone up to your head.

Sometimes, you don't want headphones to stick out of your ears for your music enjoyment experience. Addressing both of these desires is the recently revealed EQ5 Portable Wireless Speaker from the people at Motorola. It's certainly a little larger than some other Bluetooth headsets, but it also provides a heck of a lot more sound output.

On the one hand, you can pair it with a handset for the purpose of using it as a speakerphone, answering calls in a tele-conference kind of way. Aiding in this purpose are the echo-cancellation and noise-reduction features. On the other hand, you can do the A2DP Bluetooth pairing for musical enjoyment, thanks to the integrated media controls in the center.

Look for the Motorola EQ5 Portable Wireless Speaker to launch during Q2 2008. No word on price.

JBL On Call: Nokia 5310 Speaker Dock

The JBL On Call is a portable sound solution that’s made specifically for your 5310 XpressMusic phone with a dock that snuggly fits your mobile device. Carrying JBL’s signature sleek design, the On Call has two Odyssey neodymium drivers with a maximum of 3 Watts per channel. This is obviously no Bose Soundock or an Altec Lansing iM7, but its 4.5- x 2.5- x 7-inch size makes it a very portable add-on to your mini music machine. It is also compatible with other media players via its built-in input ports. It’s estimated to cost around P 5000+ which makes it a very decent buy for its reasonable price tag.

So if you’re one of the fortunate ones not experiencing problems with their Nokia 5310 XpressMusic phone and is on the hunt for the latest peripherals to enhance your music experience, then this baby is one of the things to look out for in 2008.
