The special sunlight mode enables you to see what's rendered on the screen even in bright sunlight without having to move into the shade in order to decipher your received text message. In general the monitor responses fast, but the model we tested seemed to have a less sensitive right side compared to the rest of the screen, which made it hard to select the scrollbar. At times I also had trouble touching the right buttons; although this might be a matter of simply growing accustomed to it and aiming well.
