LG unveils KS660 : Touch Screen, Dual Sim Phone

LG rolls over its dual-SIM KS660 phone with advanced features like a 3 inch touchscreen WQVGA display, a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and video recording, 50MB of memory space upgradeable via microSDHC, tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, and an accelerometer to play with. Well, I am more than impressed. They’ve done a fabulous job on the form factor. So, it’s like having class and attributes in unison with marvelous exteriors. China and CIS markets may expect its launch in February 2009 whilst others need to be patient.

Review: Nokia N96

It is becoming more and more difficult for current manufacturers to put a unique mobile phone into the market. Many cell phones are equal when it comes to their functionality, and there are only minor differences between current models and their successors. Unlike a few years ago, when mobile phones were gradually taking on more functionalities of other devices. These new models definitely made a difference at the time. The Nokia N95 brought fame to Nokia, which eventually resulted in the N95 8GB version. For now, we are curious as to what Nokia is offering us with the new N96.

Nokia N96 multimedia phone review
The Nokia N96 features a beautiful monitor. It is a 2.8 inch QVGA LCD TFT monitor with a maximum of 16 million colors. The monitor is bright and clear. The cell phone features an option to rotate the monitor automatically upon rotating the handset, which is ever so convenient when using the mobile television function. Rotating is not always completely fluent, which is a pity whilst it are these little things that make a phone just that tad less appealing.

The default Internet browser inside Symbian software is familiar from previous models and works the same way. The large monitor and the fast HSDPA connection possibility make the N96 perfectly suitable for using the Internet. G810 by Samsung: HSDPA/WiFi/GPS rival to Nokia N96

Samsung have featured in excess of a dozen new and tweaked handsets at the Mobile World Congress - including the U900 Soul, KF700, KF600 and KF510 sliders and the i900 smartphone - which is pretty much their line-up for the next six months, and frankly I’m losing the will to live trawling through them. Still, there’s the occasional diamond among the dross, and one such gem is the G810; thankfully it’s looking a whole lot more attractive than the claylike mockup we last saw.

Samsung have blessed the G810 with 3.6Mbps HSDPA, WiFi, GPS, a 5-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, face detection and onboard image editor, and a 2.6-inch screen. Running the Symbian S60 3rd edition Feature Pack 1, it will be available in Europe come March 2008, and be a direct competitor to Nokia’s freshly announced N96.

Motorola Cellphones to get Kodak's 5-Megapixel CMOS Sensor

Several Motorola cell phones to feature 5-Megapixel cameras by the end of the year.
Kodak also plans to release a digicam under its own brand name and offer the 5-Megapixel chip to Cellphone manufacturers in second half of 2007.

Kodak President Antonio Perez declared serveral key developments made by Kodak at the JPMorgan Technology Conference in Boston. The most important one being the development of a 5-Megapixel CMOS camera chip. The chip would be first to feature in Motorola cellphones by the end of this year. Besides, Kodak also plans to release a digicam based on the same CMOS camera chip under its own brand name.
Perez also informed that, Kodak has been working with IBM to develop CMOS sensors. He added, "Our CMOS sensors have been well advancing for many years. And now we will have the ability to embed the sensor in the phone with all the richness we have with our imaging software. It will allow us to make the sensor, the most important part of the camera, able to manage the light, color, and the like."
Another striking revelation was regarding Kodak's exit from entry level digital camera business owing to lack of profits from the same.
With the development of the new 5-Megapixel CMOS sensor, Kodak plans to release more products using this in-house manufactured chip to earn more profits.
